IATSE Local 600 - SOC
Born and raised in Paris - France, visual stimulus was everywhere and I soaked it in.
As a kid, I drew...a lot. I used to tape several pictures together to tell stories at lenght.
As a teenager, if I wasn't watching movies or reading comics. I was learning the basics of Photography.
From capturing, processing and printing my own images. Visual storytelling was my calling card and still is.
After getting a Baccalaureat in Art & Philosophy, I earned a BA in Cinema from ESRA, film school in Paris.
Wildlife and travel documentaries are where I found my break as a cameraman. But feature films never left my mind. Meeting Denys Clerval - AFC on a short film, led me to become an assistant camera and started the path I've been on since. Steadicam rapidly piqued my interest and I took my first workshop in Paris in 1999. As the movie gods would have it, soon after luck found me through the green card lottery. I moved to Los Angeles - CA in 2000 to start from scratch, and pursue my movie dreams. I joined the union within a couple of years and moved up through the ranks of the camera department from loader to operator. Steadicam inventor, Garrett Brown and a talented group of world-class operators mentored me and sharpened my skills in a 2nd workshop a few years later.
Life is a journey and I travel mine making movies...
